During this tour you will compare the two official royal residences: Pushkin, one of the earliest royal estates, and Pavlovsk, one of the latest, make a lovely combination!
Just half-an-hour drive, and you get to the most spectacular of St.Petersburg suburbs, the town of Pushkin, also called Tsarskoye Selo (Tsars’ village, literally). The ensemble of its palace and park is a true masterpiece of 18-19 centuries’ architects. The three parks occupy over 600 hectares and host more than a hundred architectural structures, including majestic palaces, slender pavillions and godlike park sculptures. The center of composition is Catherine’s palace and its interiors, including the famed Amber Room – lost in the WWII and completely restored recently.
As a logical continuation of this tour, you will visit Pavlovsk, a town that used to be the favourite summer residence of Emperor Pavel and his family. One of the largest landscape parks of Europe and the palace was being constructed for about 50 years along the banks of Slavyanka river. You will amaze at luxurious interiors and marvellous collections of paintings, furniture, crockery, antique sculptures, and a huge library designed by Rossi, famous Italian architect who worked in St.Petersburg
A tour to this two jewels of Russian Empire history will surely make your day!
